BLANCHE HEMPSTEAD – served as a Nursing Sister in World War II; was taken prisoner in Sumatra by the Japanese; and was one of the famous ‘White Coolies’ who were recognised in a film of the same name. Regrettably, she was executed by the Japanese.

MARGARET SCHOLFIELD (nee Murray) – a past student of CEGS Warwick, awarded BEM.

LOIS SPEED Awarded an AM for service to the Country Women’s Association.
