The Megaphone is in the school musuem, probably still with the same coat of paint.
Hello,
My name is Barbara Age and I am the eldest child of the late Tekura Age. We are from Papua New Guinea but I live and work in Vanuatu at the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat. I have been here for 1yr and have 2 more years to ago.
Just searching for schools my 2 nieces could go to and thought I’d look up dad’s old school.
This photo reminds me of my dad’s sporting days while we were growing up. He was interested in fishing and in all sorts of sports- rugby union, cricket, canoe racing, etc..In canoe racing, I can remember seeing him with a megaphone and we always had one at home too. So Slade is probably where it all started, the interest in megaphones.
Thank you for these pictures. I can see him in the Athletics and swimming photos too.
Kind regards,
Barbara
